Along Hackney Road, situated in the former children's hospital on Goldsmith's Row, is this contemporary studio apartment.
Retaining the original late-Victorian facade, the former Queen Elizabeth Hospital for children was founded & built in 1870. It helped pave the way for pioneering treatment that rapidly curbed child mortality rates.
The original brick entrance has been retained, as you entire through the main entrance.
Up on the first floor, you enter into an internal hallway with family bathroom to your right.
Swoop around and you are presented with tall Victorian windows in an open plan reception space. A subtle door leads out to the south-facing terrace, providing a fantastic space to relax on.
Fully integrated appliances complete the kitchen, including a dishwasher, fridge freezer & induction hob. The washing machine is located in the ample storage area under the stairs, keeping things nice and quiet!
Upstairs leads to your mezzanine bedroom, overlooking the reception area. Further built-in storage is provided here.
Charles Hayward House is situated opposite Hackney City Farm, & adjacent to Haggerston Park, a lovely open space, perfect for an immediate green escape.
Hackney is on your doorstep, with Shoreditch a 10 minute walk to the West, and Broadway Market less than 5 minutes on foot.
For local drinking, The Marksman is your classic local boozer, with fantastic British fare to boot. Plenty of coffee shops are within minutes, but our personal favourite is Lanark Coffee.
Transport wise, Hoxton Overground & Cambridge Heath mainline stations are equidistant, with direct routes to central London. A plethora of buses on Hackney Road take you directly to Old Street for the Northern Line.
