Transformed out of the former brutalist style ‘Lilian Baylis School’, built in the early 1960s by the Architect’s Co-Partnership for the former LCC (London County Council).

Built sensitively through a flowing arrangement of classrooms, the design is elegant and refined. Many of the original blocks have been restored with their exposed concrete floors, beam ends & timber framed windows.

Through a secure fob entrance & up onto the first floor, this one bedroom apartment has high ceilings and is filled with natural light. You can hear the soft patter of water landing from the communal fountains.

Through the front door, you are swept into a clean white space with full height windows. The open-plan reception has integrated kitchen appliances and a calm living arrangement.

Adjacent, the principle bedroom comprises full-size wardrobe and overlooks the rear courtyard. A family bathroom is just off the hallway, alongside a deep hallway cupboard with washing machine tucked away.

The former Lilian Baylis School was converted in 2014 and was grade 2 listed in 2000, the standard of accommodation is high whilst maintaining the original feel of the brutalist educational establishment.

Kennington High Street, Waterloo & London’s Southbank are all within 10 minutes. Lambeth Palace & it’s beautiful gardens is a mere stroll away, as is the start of one of the world’s best riverside walks. Soho and the City are also less than 30 minutes walk.

The pubs around Kennington are some of London’s best locals, but firm favourites include The Oxymoron @ The Royal Oak (just across the park) and The Ship just on Kennington Road. The best coffee is to be found at Bouquet & Beans, 5 minutes walk towards the high street.

Transport wise, Waterloo, Lambeth North & Kennington underground stations are all less than a 10 minute walk and connect with the Northern, Bakerloo lines. Waterloo also links with the Waterloo & City & Jubilee Lines, as well as providing trains to the South West & South East of the country. Vauxhall tube station is also a 10 minute walk & links with the Victoria line.
