A remarkable month at Bankside Lofts.
We spent a lot of time at Bankside Lofts in August. Not only did we agree three successful rentals, but we helped manage the renovation of a wonderful seventh-floor apartment, and brought to the market a barrel-vaulted penthouse in the Victorian Lofts section.
The first letting was a ground floor apartment in the Victorian Lofts section. For those how don’t know the development, this is the only part of Bankside Lofts that is a conversion and is consequently where you want to head if you love exposed brickwork. The spaces in this part of the building are what spring to mind when phrases such as “New York loft” are bandied about and the tall arched windows on the ground floor make the apartments here particularly special, not least because of the view across the communal gardens to Tate Modern. The apartment was let at £575 per week.
Next, we let a second-floor apartment on the curve of the Bankside Lofts tower. This one looks out over Hopton Street through its double-height windows and has a super floating staircase leading up to the sleeping mezzanine. The big open plan living room has a quintessential loft kitchen with a sociable – and rather sexily tapered – peninsular that delivers that all-important cook-while-you-entertain commodity. The apartment rented for £530 per week.
Finally, we let a ground floor space in the side of the tower (well, we say ground floor; the apartments on the Hopton Street side are actually raised quite high to accommodate the retail space at street level). Again high ceilings and big windows are the order of the day with a westerly aspect giving nice afternoon and evening light. This apartment rented at £540 per week.
If all this activity has you panting to rent at Bankside Lofts, we have just brought two more apartments to the market: one on the seventh floor of the tower with three bedrooms at £950 per week, and a barrel-vaulted penthouse in the Victorian Lofts section for £1,150 per week.
And if you have an apartment you’d like to rent out or sell in any part of Bankside Lofts – from the tower to the Victorian Lofts to Gallery Lofts – we’d love to find you a tenant or buyer. Being one of our favourite loft developments, our genuine love for the building is a major factor in the successful sales and rentals we’ve agreed there.
