I loved the romance of this Victorian villa and its setting behind a high brick wall covered in wisteria. It’s such a private hideaway and incredibly peaceful considering how central it is. The location opposite Greenwich Park and the beautiful walk into the middle of the town makes it the sort of place I can see myself once all my kids have left home.

Danny – Cloud House

This was a really unusual sale in that we were selling not just a property, but a project and a partnership with its architect to build it and influence the interior. It’s a true one-of-a-kind, rather than one of a style, and its location opposite a Grade 1 listed church near Parliament Hill Fields lido and athletics track ticks all the right boxes for me!

Sandra – The Salt Box

Having grown up in America, the New England feel of The Salt Box makes it my favourite home of 2022. It surely has to be as Americana as Surbiton gets (or ever thought it would get!), with its clapperboard exterior and leafy set-back location amongst the trees. It looks like a house from a fairytale, especially when lit up at night.

Dilly– Albion Yard

There’s a real sense of going back in time at this converted brewery in Whitechapel behind an unassuming wooden door from the street. We rented a very nice duplex space here, but the cherry on the cake is the rooftop garden. It spans the whole of the lefthand side building and gives residents their own urban allotment/terrace space to have a G&T under the stars. Who needs a traditional house with a garden?

Hannah – Dapple House

It’s hard to image more of a hideaway than Dapple House, which is set in the woods on the outskirts of Billericay in Essex. There’s just so much to love here, from the feelgood eco qualities, to the clever design that flows effortlessly from room to room, to the beautiful materials that somehow turn stark modernism into the height of cosiness.

David – Governor’s House

I’ve seen some outstanding homes in Kent this year, and choosing my favourite isn’t so easy. But if I had to pick just one, it would be Governor’s House in New Romney. Built in the 17th century and listed for its special architectural and historical interest, the house has fantastic floor-to-ceiling sash windows on the ground floor that overlook the garden – just gorgeous!

We hope you enjoyed our selection of the best homes of 2022. All that remains is to wish you a wonderful everything for 2023, and we can’t wait to show more incredible unique homes this year!
