Terraced houses originated in Italy in the 1600s and became popular in London after the Great Fire of 1666. They became a hallmark of Georgian architecture in Britain. The first terrace houses were built in Covent Garden, inspired by Italian palazzos. The terrace house was designed to house families and servants together.
During the Industrial Revolution, factory owners built terraced houses to house their workers. Terraced houses were the quickest and cheapest way to build large numbers of properties. London has many interesting terrace houses on the market at the moment, here are a few of our favourites!

5. A Georgian Terrace
