About Us.

For over 25 years, we’ve been selling and renting some of the most interesting, esoteric and alternative homes to people like you, seeking property like yours. People searching for something else that’s someplace else, and that’s when they find us.

We’re a small, experienced team working at the heart of a network of similarly minded professionals, with one simple aim: provide the very best service in the business – the word unique applies not only to the properties we deal with, but also to the way we work.

But enough from us, this is what other people say:

"For unusual property-browsing galore, bookmark or follow the
Unique Property Company. As its name suggests, unusual dwellings
are the agency’s bread and butter."

About - Unique Property Company - Testimonial

"Having bought and sold property regularly over the last 25 years, Unique Property Company is - without question - the best estate agent we have ever dealt with. Great communication, solid advice, persistence and patience are just some of the qualities we have seen from Simon and his team."

About - Unique Property Company - Testimonial

"A breath of fresh air. They understand that there is an art to the sales of a unique property and there is never any pressure to accept an offer. They use excellent photographers to capture every aspect and fairer reflection of what you’re selling, which results in fewer “false leads.”

About - Unique Property Company - Testimonial

"Having been convinced that we would go with a big name, I’m so pleased we did go with Simon and his team. His very real enthusiasm for properties outside the norm is tangible and they have the insight to market your home as you would want and the tenacity to push a sale through."

Team Members.

Simon Stone

Simon has been an agent for longer than he cares to remember, but it’s been nearly 30 years.

Once upon a time, he worked as an agent in South East London, (where his family hails from), then moved into the then emerging market that was Shoreditch. He did all the silly haircuts and tried, (and failed), to be cool, but he lasted 18 years. In that time, he sold countless lofts and warehouse apartments, and built a fantastic client base. He also set up the successful estate agency Davey Stone with branches in Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Broadway Market. The company was acquired in March 2016.

His continued passion with property and interiors now rests very firmly with Unique Property Company. It’s almost his fourth child and he loves what he does.

Outside of work, you’ll either find him trawling through countless travel websites and blogs, musing about the next destination he’d like to visit, or wandering through one of his favourite parts of town, The South Bank, with his wife of 25 years and one, or all, of his three kids. This always ends at Borough Market, and maybe a cheeky glass of wine.

Hannah Olsen

Hannah has been in the property business for almost twenty years and is experienced in both sales and lettings. She became a partner at Unique in 2018.

She describes herself as a “massive geek” who’s obsessed with Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings, as well as being a huge fan of a good spreadsheet – which we love as she’s so organised!

Something of a polyglot, Hannah speaks Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Spanish and has travelled the world; in the nineties, she visited more than fifteen US States, 3 Canadian provinces and 2 Continents with a group called Up With People. All of which is fantastic grounding for dealing with the huge variety of people we encounter at Unique.

Hannah’s particularly interested in the legal aspects of lettings and understands that every property, landlord & tenant is different and deserves a bespoke service, which is why she prefers working with a small team like ours; she knows it is all about relationships and outstanding service.

Danny Brewer

Danny looks after the North and North West London areas having joined Unique Property Company as a partner in late 2019. He and Simon have known each other for about 8 years from when they both worked in the same neighbourhood, but in separate estate agencies: they always got on and liked each other’s spirit, and have stayed in touch ever since.

Initially eyeing a media career, Danny hosted a radio show at university and went on to work for a while as a gig promoter. When a close friend told him he’d make a really good estate agent, he took their advice and switched in 2012. Instantly loving it, he sat and completed his MARLA exams within just 3 months, becoming the ARLA Propertymark regional representative for City, Docklands and Stratford. He knows an awful lot about – and stays on top of – industry legislation.

A big fan of curvaceous art deco design, Danny has recently been turned by the charms of concrete brutalism. He’s a native South Londoner from Streatham, but moved to Archway in 2015 after falling in love with North London’s neighbourhoods. He remains extremely happy with his decision.

In his free time, Danny is an accomplished runner and reasonable golfer.

Dilly Clack

Dilly grew up in Zambia and Malawi and lived in South Africa before coming to the UK (via some time spent in Europe) and making West London her home.

With a career that’s spanned recruitment and property, Dilly has worked for both SMEs and large blue-chip organisations. It’s safe to say that she’s very much a people person.

In particular, Dilly’s ten years working for property development and lettings companies make her move to Unique, in her own words, “A right and natural fit”.

In her free time Dilly likes to maximise being outdoors with her dogs and friends, with her list of favourite places including the Thames Path between Hammersmith and Richmond; along the canal  between Willesden Junction and Camden, and the big green spaces of  Hampstead Heath and Gunnersbury Park.

DAVID VOTTA

David is one of our two associate partners for Kent, where he’s lived his whole life. As the country’s ARLA Propertymark President Elect until 1st June, then President from 1st June 2022-1st June 2023, he helps to shape and advise on policy for the UK’s largest professional body for letting agents with over 9,000 members.

After careers as a postman and an actor, his love of property got the better of him and he went on to built a multi award-winning estate agency. He even consults with other estate agents in developing their businesses and improving service standards.

A lover in equal measure of the Kent coastline and the individual artisan and cultural scenes of the towns, you might bump into him at Sundeck in Margate, or out for dinner at Reeds in Faversham, Eastwell Manor in Ashford, or on the pier at Rocksalt in Folkestone.

When David and his wife are not dreaming of building their own unique property – an eco-friendly mix of contemporary and historic design in England’s garden county – they are kept thoroughly occupied by their two daughters of 2 & 6.

Sandra Rosenberger

Sandra grew up in Austria and moved to Las Vegas in 2004, where she studied Business and Real Estate. It was a really good time to move, because the market was booming and Sandra absolutely fell in love with the architecture there.

Things got even more interesting a few years later when the economy crashed, but nevertheless Sandra went on to get her Nevada state licence (still active) in sales brokerage and property management, learning a lot about short sales and foreclosures along the way. To broaden her knowledge, Sandra also worked in lettings and property management.

Sandra moved back to Europe in 2016, working in real estate in Amsterdam and London for various agencies, before taking the plunge with Unique in 2020 which, she says, was her best decision yet.

Clearly, we agree with her!

Paul Travers

Paul always loved writing about property, right from his very first day as an estate agent in 1986. While his teammates struggled to write descriptions, he was volunteering for every bit of text going: adverts, leaflets, editorials, brochures… anything he could lay his hands on.

He and Simon met around 2000 when they worked in different offices of the same estate agency: Simon in Shoreditch, Paul in London Bridge. Despite going on to open their own separate agencies, they never lost touch.

In 2011 Paul had an epiphany: marketing and writing were not simply bonuses of the job, they were the things that really lit him up. He’d never considered them a career on their own, but that’s exactly what they’ve become.

Since leaving ‘the office’ behind he’s explored a dream of living in other countries, spending 2 years in Amsterdam, 5 in Berlin (including getting married) and 2 in Bucharest, where he’s just renovated an 1930s penthouse in an industrial style – two of his favourite types of interior.

Paul worked as a joint agent many times with Unique in the past, so returning as Content Editor and working alongside Simon again feels like completing a natural circle.

Madelaine Cooper

Madelaine moved from London to Hastings with her husband four years ago and loves life beside the sea in this remarkable town and the beautiful countryside that surrounds it.  She also understands what it is like to make that move from a city to a different kind of lifestyle.

She has worked in the creative industries all her professional life and likes to stay connected with the key ideas and the interesting people from design, film, and social architecture.   Madelaine is also a Personal Coach to creative people and a Humanist Wedding Celebrant as well as being a Trustee of The BRIT School because she hates not being busy.

Madelaine is building the Sussex portfolio for Unique Property Company and loves the challenge of learning a new discipline in the property sector but says that it is all about being interested in people  – which fortunately she is.  Although she sometimes just likes the company of her dog.

Peter Stimpson

After graduating from Art School Peter moved to live and work in Paris for four years where he was a successful illustrator and designer. When he returned to the UK he formed a design agency which focused largely on work for the music industry and Peter designed many iconic record covers for Island Records. He has been the senior creative director for leading design and brand consultancies such as Conran Design, Loewy International and FutureBrand working for clients in the UK and internationally.

His work in the arts, design and architecture and his personal interest in culture and society bring a wealth of brand and communication experience to the ambitions and success of Unique’s future.

A converted francophile, he enjoys French cuisine and Burgundy wines – but not exclusively!

Peter shares his marriage with Madelaine and a fox terrier aptly named Milou (a reference for TinTin followers). His son is a film director and writer.

Peter is frequently invited to speak at several UK Art & Design Colleges. He is a Trustee of the charity Drawing Life which provides life drawing sessions in care homes for people with dementia and is a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.

Paul RODGER

Paul has been in the creative business even longer than Simon has been in property and has run his own business since the late seventies, picking up a few awards along the way.

His skills are put to good use at Unique: not only an experienced writer, designer and art director, Paul is no slouch at property renovation; he and his wife brought an almost derelict east London pub back to life and made it their family home for over 30 years.

Paul and Rita now live in Hastings, where they’re working on their current project…

Ester Stone

Ester has been Simon’s long suffering partner for the last 27 years, in both personal and business lives. She helped Simon establish and grow a highly successful East London estate agency that that they successfully sold in 2016, and now works with him to develop the Unique brand.

Ester primarily looks after the media relations side of the business, working with production companies and search agencies to help them find unusual properties to shoot in.

She also makes regular appearances on a number of TV programmes.

David MacGregor

David looks after a lot of the administration and support for the company including getting our newsletter out, uploading our blog articles and generally making sure that things behind the scenes run as smoothly as it looks from the outside.

He started out as an evolutionary biologist, spending his twenties and early thirties chasing monkeys through the sub-Saharan African jungle. Then he took a PhD in animal communication but realised that a life in academia wasn’t for him.

Since then, he’s filled his considerable brain with a whole mixture of stuff involving the Internet. Through learning HTML, discovering clever time-saving apps and implementing good web practice, he’s a goldmine of ideas for making things more efficient and user friendly for our customers.

He lives in Paris with his wife and dog, and is a big fan of having a home that’s small enough for him to clean himself!
